Time to shake things up.
Sam has officially put in his two week notice with the Rigby Police Department.
He is jumping over to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.
We are really excited.
Many of you know we have been looking for a different job for nearly 2 years now. It has been a long process. We debated going to several different agencies and things just didn't feel right or things didn't quite work out timing-wise or what have you. We listed our house for sale this summer hoping to move things along, but we weren't certain we wanted to leave our home. I could bore you with detail upon detail, but the short story is, it seems like things worked out exactly the way they were supposed to. We have taken the For Sale sign down and we look forward to staying here, but not quite being here anymore.
Before you ask, this won't be a pay raise. It is actually going in the other direction. I clarify that so you know why we don't go out to eat with you or to that party you invited us to. Also, because that wasn't why Sam left. I am sure you could ask Sam privately and he would tell you, but really, it comes down to us needing a change. We are really looking forward to the change.
Sam will miss the people of Rigby. He will miss our wonderful city council and mayor. He is going to miss a lot of things about serving the city. But, really, change is good. He has a chance to branch out and grow in ways he never could with the city. It is going to be really wonderful.
Good bye Officer J2 and hello, Deputy... um, I don't know yet. Can't wait to find out!
